Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that is used to recreate the natural look of teeth, they also provide strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel. They are often used to make slight position alterations or to change the tooth size, colour and/or shape.
A very small amount of the original tooth enamel must be removed, usually less then a millimetre. This then creates room for the porcelain veneer to fit within the mouth and restore the tooth function whilst creating a better appearance than the natural tooth.
Once the tooth is prepared an impression will be taken that will be then sent off to the laboratory for the veneer to be made, this process takes approximately 2 weeks. To then fit the veneer a resin will be used then a special curing light to set the resin for a long lasting veneer. Porcelain veneers are a successful option in many situations where the original tooth has fractured or there are gaps in between the natural teeth.
Porcelain veneers are made from a durable material which you can then enjoy your favourite foods without the worry.
These are extremely long lasting, they can last as long as 10-15 years as long as they have good upkeep.
Veneers are resistant to stain so they stay the shade they were placed in whilst enjoying luxuries like tea and coffee.
