Rebecca started in September, from East Yorkshire, and studied Dentistry in Cardiff.
Following my graduation, I was grateful to be able to move back up to Yorkshire to complete my dental foundation training and additional further dental core training in specialist areas. I am pleased to be back in the lovely Yorkshire countryside with my family and friends.
I graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2016 with an honours degree in dental surgery, and went on to successfully complete my dental foundation training in a busy general dental practice providing primary care. I went on to successfully complete my MFDS examinations with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
As I advanced in my career, I decided to expand my skill set further by commencing additional post-graduate dental core training posts in both oral and maxillofacial surgery, and paediatric and special care dentistry. This gave me a wealth of experience in multiple domains of dentistry and facilitated the development of my clinical skills and knowledge, allowing me to gain a deep appreciation of the different specialities within the profession.
Since completing these posts, I have worked in both NHS and private primary care settings, and I have recently started teaching undergraduate dental students at the University of Leeds part-time. I am interested in the academic side of dentistry and have presented my work at regional and national dental conferences and have published some of my work in peer-reviewed international journals. I have a keen interest in paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and in the management of dentally anxious patients.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, keeping fit and visiting national trust sites with my husband. I am a keen skier and love visiting the French Alps in the winter when I get chance. I feel extremely happy and privileged to be part of the EYDS team and I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know you all.
